Thursday 25th July

Hello! Do you have memories of wildlife in Paulton? Why not come along and share them at this Red Lion Community Garden meeting?
We are passionate about transforming this space for wildlife and food growing, providing free fresh fruit and veg for the people of Paulton.
It is important for us to know about the wildlife Paulton used to have and how we could encourage it back.
See you there!

We continue to meet fortnightly on Saturday mornings (from 10.00 – 12.00) for ‘working parties’ and chat. Current jobs to be done include watering, weeding and continuing with tidying up the site. The next sessions are on: 6th July, 20th July, 3rd August, 17th August, 31st August and fortnightly thereafter. You don’t have to stay for the full 2 hours and we are always pleased to see people who just want to come and look at what we are doing and share their ideas for the development of the garden.

Sunday - Work Parties at Paulton Coal Canal 10:00-15:00

At our canal work parties, we do a lot of gardening type activities such as digging, cutting vegetation back, moving and organising stone, raking and then the removal of the waste using wheelbarrows. There are a lot of skilled-labour tasks too, so if you think you have a skill that would be useful to us, please get in touch!
We need your help to restore the Somersetshire Coal Canal. Please do come and help out if you can, we’re a really friendly bunch and it is so rewarding. No previous experience is necessary, we will show you the ropes and provide safety training where necessary. Please ensure you wear good boots and bring thick gardening gloves if you have some too. All necessary tools will be provided. We stop for breaks regularly and lunch too, so please bring your drinks, snacks and lunch with you. www.coalcanal.com/volunteer-at-a-work-party/
